I think its no glitch but a software error.

When I want to chage my password it sais beside the NEW password field:

Choose password:
For best security, you should use six or more characters with a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.

I SHOULD use SIX ..or more

So, I tried SIX, the minimum recommended...

Result:
Your password must be at least 8 characters long..

Why first ...should six...and later ...must be at least eight?

there is a "increase" in security setting due to the recent spamming.  so yar, it should be showing more... 

will try to reinstall the forum wif the latest version once I can find time.

Somewhere in the Admin CP is surely an option where you can change the displayed texts.
The text sais: I want at least 6
The program accepts only 8 or more.

Last time in my forum I have tweaked those things myself because for wrong texts there are probably no updates.
